A key factor in improving the region’s economic performance is the provision of an effective and targeted business support environment.

The NWDA's restructuring of the region's Business Link service following a major review brings the service in line with the Regional Economic Strategy (RES).

Business Link Northwest provides a more efficient, consistent and high quality business support service to businesses across the region.  The service includes a large number of specialist brokers in the region’s key sectors.

Business Link Northwest offers:

  • Relevant and up-to-date information on emerging business trends and the range of local, regional and national business support products.
  • Analysis and assessment of individual business needs and a structured development plan.
  • Brokerage between business need and business support – providing a gateway to specialist business advice and support.

Businesses can  access the Business Link service through the following ways:

  • The Universal Service is available to all businesses and individuals considering  starting a business. Business Link advisors can quickly and easily satisfy a range of business information, diagnosis and brokerage requests, predominantly through telephone, email and website contact.
  • The Targeted Service focuses specific support for businesses in the region’s key sectors, as well as on businesses with proven growth potential. It includes over 200 specialist brokers based  throughout the region. These brokers work directly with businesses on a one-to-one basis to identify areas for development and broker solutions, enabling them to access the best available business support solutions.
