Small Business Loans

The NWDA has made over £1 million available to provide loans of £3,000 to £30,000 to start up, established small businesses and not-for-profit social enterprises throughout the region.

Loans are available to businesses  that have been unable to raise any or part of the funding they need from the banking and financial services sector alone.

Small Business Loans are managed and distributed by five partners across the Northwest:

Local funding

Businesses interested in applying for local funding should contact the following organisations:

  • Cumbria Asset Reinvestment Trust will provide new loans to viable businesses with growth and employment potential in Cumbria. Contact Grahame Latus on 01768 869514 or email grahamelatus@ccart.org.uk
  • Merseyside Special Investment Fund will provide loans on Merseyside from their existing funds. Contact Marian Catterall, MSIF on 0151 236 4040 or e-mail info@msif.co.uk
  • Bolton Business Ventures will provide new loans in Northern Greater Manchester, Lancashire and to women led businesses in Merseyside not eligible for MSIF loans. Contact John Whittaker on 01204 391400 or e-mail jwhittaker@bbvonline.net
  • The Enterprise Fund will provide new loans for Southern Greater Manchester and Cheshire. Contact Paul Breen on 0161 245 4977 or e-mail paul.breen@enterprisefund.co.uk

Regional funding

  • The North West Community Loan Fund will be making new loans to social enterprise and not-for-profit businesses throughout the Northwest. Contact Roy White on 01928 590472 or e-mail roy@lif.org.uk
