UNIDO Comparative Analysis Tool (UCAT)
UCAT was developed by Manchester Business School to help
companies research countries for their investment/joint venture or
subcontracting activity. UCAT utilises a matrix of data from
31 developing countries, collated from a wide range of sources that
are not readily available. The data covers 80 criteria such
as logistics, human resources, country infrastructure and company
operations, see below for the list of criteria and the countries
that UCAT covers. The tool concentrates on 9 main industry
sectors and also incorporates generic country data.
The weightings of the main criteria can be adjusted to suit your
companies’ individual needs. The database will automatically
shortlist the countries that correspond with your companies
requirements. This enables your company to obtain access to
the raw data in a structured way
Original sources of the data and country analysis reports are
also accessible to enable directors to utilise the data for
boardroom presentations and informed decision making.
