Equality & Diversity Annual Report 2008 – 2009
The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) is proud of the
diversity that exists in the Northwest and the strength this brings
to the region.
Over the past year we have worked hard to drive forward Equality
& Diversity within the Agency and show leadership on the agenda
regionally with our partners.
Last year saw a major milestone with the Agency producing its
first Single Equality
Scheme. This provided an opportunity to review our
Gender, Disability and Race Equality Schemes and incorporate work
on the newer strands of Age, Sexual Orientation, Religion or
Belief.
This is a challenging agenda, but we are working hard to rise to
this challenge.
This Annual Report provides an opportunity to showcase the
progress we have made in achieving the first year objectives and
targets set out in our Single
Equality Scheme. It also provides us with an
opportunity to review actions and highlight examples of how we are
embedding Equality & Diversity into all of our main business
activities.
