For any organisation, people remain our most potent natural resource.  Our economic success and our social cohesion depend on the development of talent, skill and creativity of both our workforce and the wider community.

The North West Talent Debate is part of a series of Talent Debates being delivered around the UK. Business in the Community is working with a consortium of Government Departments and other key organisations on the talent agenda. Through this event they will bring together business, education, community and government to understand the role we can all play in unlocking the talent and ability of all to equip us to compete more effectively in the global economy.

The lively and interactive programme will include speakers from across both private and public sector as well as showcasing great examples of what companies are doing here in the North West to develop talent in creative ways. Most importantly the event will bring together business, education, community and government to understand the role everyone can play in this priority agenda.

The programme will include presentations from:

• Stephen Timms MP, Minister of State for Employment and Welfare Reform at the Department for Work and Pensions.
• Mike Blackburn, North West Regional Director, BT
• Lis Smith, Director of Skills Policy, NWDA
• Prof. Mike Campbell, UK Commission for Employment and Skills

The morning session will be followed by lunch with an opportunity to network and talk with the many Talent providers in our Talent Fair.

For any organisation, people remain our most potent natural resource.  The   economic success and social cohesion of the North West depend on us developing the talent, skill and creativity of both our workforce and the wider community.
